I did it again ...

After I bought another baking pan - was just a lucky coincidence - I had to try making the cinnabons again. :-) And ...

perfect! The pan has exactly the right size! Love it!

Also, I did as I wrote in this post try to double the cream cheese in the icing recipe and I really really loved it! However, I do realize this probably very much depends on your taste. I would not say that "my version" of the icing is better than the one in the recipe. And also - since it is such a long time that I had original Cinnabons I don't even really remember the taste of the icing ... I only know I loved the cream cheese icing very much ... :-)
Doubling the cream cheese worked really well for me ... it might however taste different to the original Cinnebon version ... I actually did simply not care ;-) But just in case you are thinking of trying it I don't want you to be disappointed.

Hide-away

When I read this post Weekend getaway at the blog Gardenymph I instantly remembered how I loved to build my own "house" with blankets and covers and cusions under tables. It was great having a little hide-away and I had some great times with my sisters and my cousins playing. Weird how I forgot about this until I read this post ...
Of course I had to try it and make a little hide-away for my daughter. Unfortunately our kitchen table is rather small ... so there was only room for her under there. Well, still enough to taker her baby doll boy and some food (apple slices) and books with her. :-)

Today we made another hide-away over her bed. - Has the advantage that it doesn't interfere with all our meal times! :-) - She has something like a bed tent (I bought it at IKEA) which is however open to all sides - except for the top. Sorry, hard to describe ... We put old blankets and sheets over it ... and she just loved it.

Email button

I just found a nice tutorial on how to add an email button to your blog:
Just something I made

If you don't have an email button yet but would like to have one - check it out! It is not only a totally simple tutorial on how to add one - but there are also several cute graphics to choose from! And of course you are very welcome to try my new email button! :-)

Make your own font

I have not been able to post anything the last days. Work was just crazy ... the last two days I stayed up very late - TOO late - to prepare a presentation I had to hold today ... and now I am simply tired. Normally I would say, well, at least it's weekend now ... but I have to work tomorrow, too. :-(

But today I found a really cool site I just had to try - and share with you! And I think I'm going to play around with this site the next couple days! Check this out:
With yourfonts.com you can make your own fonts!!! You can make a font with your handwriting or ... whatever you want! Endless possibilities! And it is free! I love free stuff. :-)

I just tried it with my handwriting and it is really cool to type on your computer and see your handwriting appear! :-)

Chocolate chunk cookie cupcakes

Doesn't the name sound delicious? I made those cupcakes following this Martha Stewart recipe. They didn't rise a lot during baking but tasted very nice. Only really weird thing ... all the chocolate chunks were at the bottom of the cupcakes. I actually don't know why they all dropped down to the bottom. The dough is really fluffy ... maybe the chocolate pieces were to heavy ...

After reading the recipe AND the comments section of the recipe again I just realized that I was not the only one having this problem! :-) In the comments section it is recommended that you save some of the choc bits and put them on top of the cupcakes just before putting the pans in the oven. I'm definitely going to try this next time I'm making these. Will definitely make them again!

Finished two pompoms - YEAH!

:-)
I did it. Thanks to another method, making pompoms is - for me at least - much easier. I found this site with a pompom tutorial and tried it ... and it worked much better (and quicker!!!) than the cardboard method.
So, here are the two tiny pompoms. (The third bigger one is the one I did first.) I'm very happy with how they turned out. I also chrocheted a little string that I threaded through the top bit of the leg warmer. Now I only need to attach the pompoms to the ends of the string ...

I hate pompoms

Did I write that I liked pompoms? I must have been totally out of my mind. Well, I do like the look of pompoms. But I must have forgotten ... I hate MAKING pompoms! It all came back when I started cutting two cardbord circles ... I never liked making pompoms! I loved crafting and crocheting even when I was a kid. But even then ... I did not like making pompoms! Making pompoms was one of those things that look "oh so easy". But once you start doing it you realize ... this is going to take FOREVER. And you are not patient enough and finish before there is enough yarn on the cardbord circles ... and the pompoms end up ... well, not exactly looking like pompoms ... BAD MEMORIES!

Anyway, I still gave it a try. It even did look like a pompom after I was done. (I still think that it takes a ridiculous amount of time and yarn to finish one of these little bastards!) But of course there was no way it could just work out ... the pompom was way too big! So I will have to try making new ones ... smaller ones. FRUSTRATING!

One leg warmer finished

I know I need two. But since it takes a while - at least for me - to finish one I still wanted to show off the first one! :-)
I wanted to kinda make a combination out of these two leg warmer models:
cable legwarmer with pompoms and this pattern with curly edge

I really liked the top bit of the first pattern: how it is folded over and how it has those cute tiny pompoms. However, I didn't want to go for a cable pattern. In the second pattern I really liked the ruffled edge and the simple pattern of the rest of the leg warmer. So I kinda figured that I'll just combine those two. So I wanted to make a simple leg warmer in a knit 2 purl 2 pattern. Fold the top over and add tiny pompoms. And finish it off with a curly edge. And this is what it looks like now ...
Since my daughter was not very cooperative at first and simply did not want to put the leg warmer on for a picture I tried to put it on my arm - obviously it would not fit my leg! - and take a picture of it ... I would have never believed how hard it is to take a picture of your own arm if I would have not tried this! VERY hard! Below is by far the best picture I came up with.

The pompoms are still missing ... so I am working on those ...

Tea party game

Well, I have not posted alot lately ... I have been very busy doing stuff, but have not finished alot so far ... :-) But today at least I can show one project ...

After I saw this totally cute tea party game at Melissas blog I tried whether I could buy it in Germany, too. However, I could not find it. So I thought I make my own version of it.
The rules of the game are:
Each person takes turns to spin and collect items. You can collect dessert, a sandwich, cuttlery, a plate, a cup, sugar and fruit. If you spin the bees you loose one item. In order to collect food you have to collect a plate first. To collect sugar you have to collect a cup first. The person who is the first to have collected everything wins. Easy.

This is what I made so far:

Well, I am not very good at drawing ... but I did enjoy it nevertheless! :-) I used water color pens - that's why the colors look rather faint ... It's supposed to be this way! :-)
I made only the spinner (I hope that's what "the thing you spin" is called). At first I thought I am going to make the whole set ... but now I am not too sure anymore. I realized that I could use my daughters play kitchen and play shop stuff instead of making plates, cups, food ... I think she might even like it more when playing with "real" stuff instead of paper cut-outs ... The disadvantage of course is that I can only play this game with her at home ... unless I want to take half a play kitchen and play shop with me ... :-)
So, I don't know yet whether I might end up drawing cups, plates, fruit, cakes ... Maybe I will just decide depending on how much she likes the game. We played it once today and she seemed to have fun ... :-)

Remember the magic suitcase?

Well, my daughter is not the only one using it anymore ... Somehow her little boy got hold of it ... ;-)

The new banner

is up! Thank you so much, Tricia, for making this for me! I love it!
And Tricia was even so kind and lovely to give me the mouse and things of the banner as clip arts. They are just so cute ... Thank you!

Magic suitcase

Today my parents and my grandpa came to visit and my grandpa brought me this:

Yes, this is an old suitcase. I would guess REALLY old! I was looking for an old one to make a "magic suitcase" out of it and was very happy that my granddad still had one. It is even not broke yet or anything and there is even still a key to it. (If this would have been my suitcase I am sure the key would have been lost a LONG LONG time ago.) I also love the inside - it has two pockets.

Well, I guess you are wondering what a magic suitcase is? Well, I have to admit I stole the idea from Melissa and her lovely blog. It's a suitcase full of dress-up clothes. I was wanting to put together dress-up clothes for a long time. I inteded to put them into a box or some kind of wooden chest. But I was a bit scared to use the chest after all, because I was afraid my daughter might squish her fingers when closing the lid. So, when I read Melissa's post that was it - a suitcase! What a lovely idea! (Also as Melissa points out the advantage of being able to easily take it with you is a great one.) I call it "magic suitcase" - that was actually my idea ;-) - because by using it's contents you can be someone else. And I simply loved the name! :-) Had to make it sound more mysterious. :-) And I wanted it to be an old suitcase rather than a new one ... I think it just fits better - and maybe makes even a nice decoration in the kid's room.
So I have the suitcase ... now I need to get stuff together to fill it. For now I let my daughter play with the empty suitcase. She wants to put all her play shop stuff in there. Also up until now she was never really into dressing-up. She did like to get her face painted to be a mouse or something like that ... but getting all dressed-up wasn't her thing yet. But I'm quite sure that will change with time. I also think it will be totally cute for a birthday or when friends come over ... So I am really looking forward to February because in Germany there is carnival. They sell costumes and face paint and accessories everywhere and I am hoping to get some good deals afterwards ... :-)

Cinnabons

Since I have lived in the US for a year I am in love with Cinnabons. Well, not just Cinnabons ... pretty much every sweet food that was new to me ... waffles or pancakes with syrup, brownies, frozen yoghurt, s'mores (totally addicted!), cookies, muffins, cupcakes, frosting, cheesecakes ... well, I could go on for a while ... ;-) but I guess you get the point! Actually the fact that I could not buy all those things back home got me into baking. If you can't buy it you gotta try making it yourself! Since that time I have been looking for the perfect recipes for certain things - including also Cinnabons! I have tried a few recipes already now and then ... they weren't bad but I still have not found the really perfect one! So today I tried another one. I found the recipe on Laura Rebecca's Kitchen. As I live in Germany and we use another metric system I always have to "translate" parts of the recipe. When something states that I have to use 1 package I always have to make sure that a "package" is actually the same amount as one package contains overhere. So I checked how much yeast in one package is ... but when reading the recipe I unfortunately made a simple error - I read that one package of dry yeast would contain 1 oz. Not familiar with using oz as measurements I translated this in grams ... and was startled. I could not possibly use 30grams of dry yeast for this amount of flour! According to the package of the dry yeast this would be WAY to much! A bit more than one package would be fine. Well, after deciding not to bother too much - I simply used two packages. This actually is about 1/2 oz of dry yeast - which is alot more than the recipe called for - but it worked perfectly. :-)
The other problem I had was that I didn't know what size a regular cake pan has ... So I just used my regular baking sheet ... which was probably a bit too big. I like when there is no room between the buns. I don't know whether this is correct but I think that the buns are more soft and moist when they are very close together compared to when there is still room between them.
Other than that the buns turned out really nice. I love the icing! I am wondering whether it would make it even better if one would add more cream cheese to it ... I might try that next time. (Oh, I left out the lemon extract. For some reason I don't like the taste of lemon too much in cakes ... and I couldn't recall any lemony taste in the frosting of the buns that I had tried in the US. However, I think they come with different frostings!?) The buns were very nice and sticky and had a lovely texture. And the filling was perfect! (As I said I have already tried other recipes and for some reason often there simply was too little filling for too much dough ...) So I can really recommend this! :-) I will definitely do it again. Maybe I figure out the right pan size until then ...

And a few tips for bakers using recipes that are not in the metric system they are used to:
I try to "translate" as little as possible because with each conversion you are likely to make the whole thing less exact. I bought for example measuring cups and spoons and even a few cake pans when I was lucky enough to get them or when traveling and use them as often as possible. If I don't have an appropriate measuring device I "translate" the amount given into grams and use a regular scale to weigh the stuff. Because I don't like calculating too much I have a copy of "metric equivalent charts" pinned to my fridge. I got mine from a book but you can easily find them on the internet and print them out. This really helps me alot!
And a thing that I just figured out recently: I always have big trouble when recipes state measurement in inches (like the thickness of your dough or pan sizes). We use centimetres and I simply can never remember how much exactly one inch is and of course I could look it up ... but it just really annoyed me each time to do this. And then having to calculate didn't really make the affair more fun ... On my last ikea trip - and I think Ikea is pretty much everywhere around the world by now, or am I wrong? - I picked up one of these paper measuring tapes and looking at it it instantly hit me ... centimetres and inches!!! Now this paper measuring tape is also pinned to my fridge and every time something is stated in inches I can either just measure it or just look at the tape and know instantly how many centrimetres it is.
I know, some people might go "What, she could just have bought a regular measuring tape ... " Well, yes I could have. Just would have had to make sure that there is inches and centimetres on it - which is not always the case over here. However, I simply never got this idea! It took me years to come up with this! Years of agony and calculating ... or just asking my husband to calculate for me. ;-) So therefore even though it is very easy and simple - I am still proud of it! :-)

UPDATE:
I did try to double the cream cheese in the recipe meanwhile. I really loved it. However, I am not sure whether it tastes like the original Cinnabon icing anymore ... but didn't care too much either. ;-)

And the award goes to ...

Sorry, it took so long, but the last days were kinda crazy ... But finally I will announce who I would like to give the award to. I have to say I will give it only to four people instead of five. And this simply is because I could instantly think of four people that I wanted to give it to ... but just couldn't make my mind up about the fifth one ... As I have mentioned earlier I just started blogging a while ago and I have come across MANY very interesting looking blogs. I save them into my bookmarks ... but since my time is very limited I did not have the time to read through them yet ... Therefore the award goes to:

Mira - in her blog "Kleine Naht ganz groß" (it is in german) I saw the nicest children's clothes that she sewes. I simply lover her style - it is cute but not "too much". And she is really the nicest person! Via email she helped me so much with my own first pieces of sewing and took the time to answer many questions! Thanks so much for taking the time to do that!!!

Marmelis - without her blog (also in german) and her nice email I would probably not have started my own one! I found her blog kinda by accident and I loved the mix - posts about the children's clothes she sews, recipes, decorating, crafts ... and even more. I was so impressed that I wrote her an email. Among other things I told her that I kinda was thinking of starting my own blog but didn't know whether I really had the time and knowledge to do it. She send me a nice reply and told me I could just try and that I can set up an account with blogspot for free ... and I did! :-)

Tricia - she has the loveliest art and illustrations. And I am not just saying this because I won the custom blog banner! She regularly creates illustrations and shares them for free on her blog! I find that amazing! I really like her picture because the simply make me smile. And I really like many of her ideas - for crafts, gifts, organizing ...

Melissa - her blog "Chasing cheerios" has already given me so many inspirations and ideas what I could do with my daughter. I love that she shares so many ideas! And even though her blogs is read by really many people she takes the time to answer comments and emails! Thanks!

Congratulations to everyone! You are welcome to take the award from my last post and put it on your blog. I am really happy that I "met" you guys!

I got an award!

Blog life just keeps getting better and better! ;-)
Today I got a blog award! Thank you Katie! I really feel so honoured - even more by the nice things she said about me and my blog than by the award.

With this award I have to answer the following questions:

1. Say one thing nice to a man in your life...

To my husband - you're the best cook I have ever known! I know I'm going to regret that I said this for the rest of my life ....

2. Measure success in your life or blog with six or more ways...

I find it hard to measure success in my life in words ... I would say success for me is ...
-that I have the greatest daughter
-that my family and I find our own way - sometimes easily and sometimes harder
-that even though not everything is great, perfect and achieved in a straight way I am most of the time happy to live my life as it is and be the person I am

About my blog ... success for me is ...
-that I started it even though I was very anxious and didn't know a thing about it
-that it makes me feel happy since I can look at all the crafty things I did and enjoy it and it really helps me to kinda organize the "creative chaos of ideas in my head" ;-)
-that I "meet" so many new people because of it and get so many inspirations
-that I actually really enjoy writing this blog and I don't feel obligated to do it but really look forward to it

Well, and the best part ... I can give this award to five other people. Gotta think about this ....

Squirrel game

Another really easy game to play with small kids. It's not even a game really ... so I didn't want to post it first. But then ... well, I would have never thought of doing this if I would have not read it somewhere. Unfortunately I don't remember where I read it ...
All you need is a dice and something were you have several of ... like little stones, marbles, nuts, ... It can really be anything. I use a few peanuts that were lying around for too long so we don't really want to eat them anymore. Therefore I call it the game "squirrel game". And all you do know is roll the dice after each other - the highest wins. (You could of course also play the lowest wins.) Who wins gets a nut. You play for as long as you want. In my case - as long as my daughter wants.
And then you can count what you got. Really easy - and you can practice numbers and an understanding of quantities.

Christmas tradition

Today we had a nice afternoon. We decided that we have to get rid of our christmas tree - it basically had lost at least half of its needles already ... and strewn it over our living room floor ... :-/ At my parents' house we had a nice tradition that I really love and will do with my family now. I have never heard of any other family who does this too ... therefore I am sharing this with you. In my parents' house we used to have lots of candies and chocolates. Of course my sisters and I were really keen on getting these. However, we were not allowed to take them off the tree. They would stay until my parents decided that it was time to get rid of the tree. Then we would all come together and we had to sing christmas songs in order to get a piece of candy or chocolate. For each song (or verse) you would get a piece. Last year my daughter was too young to do this. But this year she loves to sing and therefore I did this. It was a really nice family afternoon. However, I only had one kind of cookies and candy canes on the tree ... I'm thinking I will have to make different candies next year to make the whole thing more interesting ... and yummy. ;-) At home we used to have the store bought tiny chocolates ... but for some reason I don't wanna put them on my tree ... don't know why. Don't like the look of it ... Maybe I'll find some candies I can make myself ... got about 12 months to search the net. *laugh* If anybody has suggestions please let me know!

I WON!!!

I still can't believe it ...
Tricia Rennea (she also created the cute mouse and cupcake picture one the right side of my blog) is going to make a custom blog banner for me! YEAH! I am so curious ... What a great day!

Funny faces game

This is a game I made to play with my daughter. I got the idea from here. It's pretty simple. You print out the pictures and cut them out. Or you just make up your own - like I did. I just cut four circles from felt and four different mouths. And I used google eyes but you could easily cut them from felt too. (I liked using felt rather than paper since it is a bit more durable and the mouths kinda stick on the faces ... ) Then you prep a dice - just put bits of felt on each side with double sided tape. I put on the dice the colours of the faces - there are four - and red and white. Then you start rolling the dice. The aim is that you collect a face first (you need to roll that colour). If you have a face you need to put eyes on it and the mouth. In order to get those you have to roll white twice and red. My daughter loves that game! It is really easy and quick and you can put it into a little box and take with you (like on car trips). However, I am going to change the rules a bit. With the rules stated above it can happen that one person ends up with three faces - and the other one only with one ... and after the faces are distributed four colours of the days are "passes" and only white and red are the ones you need ... so I find it a bit boring ...
I think I will change the game to the following:

The faces are distributed at the beginning and each player gets one (or two) faces - depending on how many players. The aim of the game is to fill the faces with a mouth, two eyes, a nose and hair (and maybe ears if you like). You have to assign certain colours for the part of the face - like red for mouth, white for eyes, brown for hair ... One colour will be a pass - the person is not allowed to take anything. You can also add a joker - this colour would mean that the person can pick one thing he/she likes or needs. If you play with the joker you will have no ears in the game. I think it will help to put down the colours with a picture of the body part that they stand for on a letter sized paper ... so the child can have a look after he/ she rolled the dice and will see what the colour on the dice means.
I think this way the game kinda makes more sense to adults ;-) (which my daughter won't care about!) and you can play it a bit longer. Also since you can make as many faces as you want and are not limited to four anymore - more people can play! To make it even harder you could leave out the colours completey and use the numbers on the dice and assign these to certain parts of the face. But I think that is only suitable for children a bit older - younger children probably get too frustrated with that.

Well, I hope this was not too confusing. If it didn't make sense or anything is unclear - just ask! :-) And if you have any suggestions for games for little children (my daughter is three) - please tell me!

Look what I bought yesterday

It's pink and blue cotton velvet. I think the colours don't come out very well on the picture ... But I tried. ;-) (These were not really my favourite colours - however, the choices were really limited.) I also bought some black cotton - but since that is not so interesting I didn't take a picture. Now I just have to figure out, what to make off it ...

This one bought my husband already a few days ago in a discount store. I probably isn't the best quality yarn ... but I figured for the first sewing attempts it might be enough. I can't believe how nice those colours look together . I could just sit there and look at it ... and it makes me smile. I know I am weird ... but am I really THAT weird?!

And something else we bought yesterday. These just had to come with us! ;-) I know I am an adult - I don't need stuffed toys anymore. Well, at least I've got a daughter as an excuse ... If my husband wouldn't have been with me shopping I might have ended up with alot more than just two .... :-) These are really tiny ... and I am trying to think of a project where I could use a couple ...

Legwarmers - Second try

Well, as you can see I am working at legwarmers again. As I am not a fast knitter this might take a while. The really cold winter weather probably will be over by then ... We had really cold weather the last ocuple days. Minus 24 degrees celsius! That doesn't happen often around here. It is getting warmer now but it's still under zero degrees. So, I guess even if it is not as cold anymore as the last days ... legwarmers still should be a nice addition to the winter wardrobe!
So I suppose tonight I am just going to watch a moving and knit ... I am actually more in the mood of reading ... but couldn't figure out a way how to knit and hold a book at the same time ... Any suggestions?

Tracing paper

Yesterday while looking for printable activities that I could do with my daughter I found this website. You can enter any word you like - like the kid's name or any other word that's important to the child - and print tracing paper. I just printed some copies and will try it.
I also found this website and already tried a few of the pages. My daughter really enjoyed to draw the christmas tree.

Food for kids

At some point - I don't even remember how and why - I stumbled over this post. I thought I have to try this, since my daughter often does not eat well ... Also I thought it would be a fun way to remember to have a range of different food items. So I tried it and it was a BIG HIT! So I recommend this to all parents! :-) My daughter loves it. Even though I don't understand the difference ... she rather eats out of a muffin pan (either tin or silicon one) than from a plate! And she actually tries also food that she otherwise won't touch.

Another addiction?

That is what I did tonight:

I just LOVE the fabric. I really wanted to finish this tonight cause I told my daughter that she could wear it tomorrow into kindergarten. Well, I am REALLY tired now - but I did it! Now I will just go to bed ... and hopefully be able to stay awake at work tomorrow!
This is the second dress I made - and as with the first dress I had to do the middle seam (where the skirt joins the top) TWICE. I don't know why ... I seem to enjoy undoing seams and redoing them ... *sigh*

Snowman cupcakes

Aren't they loveley!? And the best thing: my daughter did the decorating all herself. Well, I spread the icing on top. But the rest was done by her! I am so proud. (She is only three.) And I think they look really cute. My daughter will take them tomorrow to her kindergarten. Hope the kids will like the taste as much as the look.

I got the idea from this website.

Unfortunately we ran out of brown m&ms before we were done with all 24 of them. You would be surprised how few brown m&ms are in a bag. Well, so there are a few undecorated ones sitting in my kitchen ... thinking of them ... well, a few very lonesome cupcakes ... all alone ... looking very tasteful ... with sweet frosting ...
sorry, am off to the kitchen ...

Crochet baby doll crib

After two very unsuccessful attempts of crocheting a crib for my daughters baby boy doll (out of fabric strips) ... I finally did it! Yeah! After making this tiny handbag I really liked the way the material would hold its shape. And I thought I could make a crib with handles - like the ones you can buy for babys or sometimes have on the pram. I thought shouldn't be too hard. I just make an oval or rectangular bottom and sides ... Well, turned out to get the pattern right wasn't the problem. But the size! I started out at first trying to make an oval. But since I didn't know how much each row would add to the height and width of the material I didn't know with how many stitches I was supposed to start. I just started - even redid the beginning once - but in the end what was supposed to be the bottom piece turned out to narrow but to long. :-( Since I hate redoing things I just left it - figured I can turn it into another project at some point - and started all over again. This time I figured a rectangular bottom should be easier, since you can measure the chain to start with directly at the doll ... and then just keep going until you reach the required lenght. Well, turned out that you have to make the starting chain a bit shorter than your actually width - don't know why. So I AGAIN ended up with a piece to wide. To add to the frustration before I could reach the required length I ran out of the fabric I had used. I really wanted to have the bottom piece one colour or pattern ... so I started over a third time. This time I used an old bed sheet - therefore I could be SURE not to run out of fabric again! :-) And finally I got the size of the bottom piece just right. Adding the sides wasn't a problem and also the handles turned out nice. I was surprised that it is not as sturdy as the tiny handbag. I suppose it depends on what kind of fabric you are using. But my daughter loves it and carries her baby boy around with her. :-)

Kimono

This is what I got for christmas from my husband. Well, I added the black flower for the picture. But he made the kimono. It was the first thing he sewed. And imagining how long it took me to sew the little dress for my daughter ... I don't wanna know how long he was working on this!

New Years Resolutions

I usually don't have more than one new year resolution since I don't like the frustration of having many - and not fullfilling them! Therefore the last years I used to have none - or one rather realistic one, so I could stand a chance! :-) But after reading about resolutions in many blogs I started thinking. I wanted to come up with one important one ... but there were just so many things that I thought to be important ... that I couldn't stick with one. So, here they are ... my resolutions for 2009.

My most important one:

1. After picking up my daughter from kindergarten spend at least one hour playing with her without switching on the computer. (Have to admit am really bad about this.)

And the rest:

2. Learn how to sell stuff on ebay - and sell all those things I don't use anymore and that just take up space in our apartment.

3. Try finishing projects before starting new ones. Try not to have more than five projects going at one time. (I actually have no idea how realistic this is. I usually have

4. Organize and backup my computer REGULARLY (and not just once a year!).

5. Get a better overview over our bank and money matters (that is my least favourite).

Well, yeah, I am going with these ones. I mean, there are LOADS of other things (like keeping the house organized at all times ... haha) that I could put down - already knowing that this will not come true in 2009 ... and probably also not in 2010 ... So therefore I try to pick realistic ones and be practical, rather have few things to work on and actually be able to change them ... than have alot things, that you already know you will fail at! My motto!
I am really curious already what I will think reading this again in one years time ... :-)

To everyone out there having resolutions - good luck making them come true! :-)

New blog picture

I added a new picture on my blog - the one with the mouse and the cupcake. I think it is so totally cute! I got it from Tricia-Rennea and her beautiful blog. She has so many really cute pictures and very nice lists and other printable stuff. You can find the mouse and cake picture here.

Thanks, Tricia, that I am allowed to put the picture on my blog!
