And another block ... sailboat ...

Well, I am not too happy with this one. I am totally loving the giant ricrac. But somehow I think the fabric I chose for the sailboat body and the sails does not go together too well. Or it is just the embroidery that seems too much? I am not sure ...
I quite like that the sails are kinda poofy and stand a bit away from the fabric (I only sewed them to the background fabric in the middle.) But the overall picture to me somehow seems just a little "too much" ...
Guess I should be happy that baby boy will not complain. At least I hope he will not. Maybe his first words are going to be "Oh no, that is just too much"
In German of course. Otherwise it would be really creepy. ;-)

NOT too much! It's adorable! I just may have to steal this idea one of these days -- that rick-rack is FANTASTIC!

I love the boat!! We have a sail boat and I think it is perfect! We have two sets of sails and as a fabric junkie neither one would be the fabric I would pick to match my boat...but that is the way it goes with sails! As for the stitchery...it is great! There is so much crap up a mast that I can hardly figure out what to pull most of the time! There are cleats and lines and bobbles of all sorts...so to me it looks just right!

Definitely not too much, especially for a little one! The more they have to look at and feel, the better learning experience they can have.
