Well, I am not too happy with this one. I am totally loving the giant ricrac. But somehow I think the fabric I chose for the sailboat body and the sails does not go together too well. Or it is just the embroidery that seems too much? I am not sure ...
I quite like that the sails are kinda poofy and stand a bit away from the fabric (I only sewed them to the background fabric in the middle.) But the overall picture to me somehow seems just a little "too much" ...
Guess I should be happy that baby boy will not complain. At least I hope he will not. Maybe his first words are going to be "Oh no, that is just too much"
In German of course. Otherwise it would be really creepy. ;-)
NOT too much! It's adorable! I just may have to steal this idea one of these days -- that rick-rack is FANTASTIC!
ReplyDeleteI love the boat!! We have a sail boat and I think it is perfect! We have two sets of sails and as a fabric junkie neither one would be the fabric I would pick to match my boat...but that is the way it goes with sails! As for the stitchery...it is great! There is so much crap up a mast that I can hardly figure out what to pull most of the time! There are cleats and lines and bobbles of all sorts...so to me it looks just right!
